The Strengthening Business and Human Rights Awareness and Capacity Building of Civil Society Actors project is a collaborative effort led by the Business and Human Rights Association (BHRTR) and the European Neighbourhood Council (ENC). Both organizations bring their expertise to support civil society in promoting responsible business conduct.
The Business and Human Rights Association (BHRTR) is the first NGO in Türkiye dedicated specifically to business and human rights (BHR) and the promotion of responsible business conduct (RBC). Since its establishment in 2021, BHRTR has been a pioneer in advocating for corporate accountability in upholding human rights standards, working in close alignment with the United Nations Guiding Principles (UNGPs) on Business and Human Rights.
BHRTR brings together a team of highly qualified experts and distinguished lawyers, and actively collaborates with government institutions, international organisations, UN agencies, private sector actors, financial institutions, and civil society to generate meaningful impact and advance a more equitable and inclusive society.
In addition to awareness-raising, monitoring, and reporting, BHRTR carries out practical, field-based work such as human rights impact assessments, grievance and remediation mechanism design, supply chain mapping, and Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD) reporting—covering the full HREDD cycle. Its sectoral focus includes the textile and garment industry, automotive, agriculture, and energy supply chains.
